It’s May 1st, which means that the first Fest at

smallfandomfest is now open for prompts! We’re pretty excited at the prospect of getting lots of fanfic and fanart in our favorite small fandoms, and we hope that you are, too. But we need your help!

We need you to submit lots of prompts to entice others to write or create graphics, and if you know anyone else who loves small fandoms, please pimp us out to them!

We’ll be accepting prompts through May 21st, after which they’ll be up for grabs. For more information or to submit a prompt, read this post and comment there.

Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you…

ds_shakespeare!

April 23rd is Shakespeare’s birthday. In celebration,

aingeal8c and I have set up a new community,

ds_shakespeare. Essentially, it is a fic-writing challenge (although we’re open to icons and vids too) where all the prompts will be Shakespearean quotes. Fascinated by the parallels between due South and Romeo and Juliet? Think Frannie is a modern-day Titania or Dief a modern Puck? Go for it!

At the moment we are looking for prompt submissions, so you have a week to arm yourself with all your favourite quotes, plays or sonnets, and come on over.

Prompt claiming will open on the 23rd, and the fic deadline is roughly July 1st. So fics can be any length, and you have a little over two months to write; and then on Canada Day we will have a big post of self-congratulatory squee!

It’s open to 6 degrees as well as due South fic. Wilby Wonderful and Twelfth Night? Billy Talent and Hamlet? Great! And, of course, I am hoping for lots of wonderful Slings & Arrows fic.

So come and play!

As an excuse to write fic in, and in an effort to selfishly receive more fic from our favorite small fandoms,

sara_merry99 and I have created

smallfandomfest, a multi-fandom fest community for small fandoms.

We are open to television, movie and book fandoms. Both fanfic and fanart submissions are welcome, as are gen, het, slash and femslash submissions.

Our first Fest will be held May - July, 2007 and we’re going to be relying on you all to submit prompts, so start thinking up some good ones now!

Announcing (as you might have guessed from the title, smart people as you are) a new challenge community:

ds_harlequin. If you've ever had the urge to write Fraser as a prince trapped in a tower or Ray as a roguish cowboy, this is the challenge for you. Make it as cracky or as serious as you want. Anything goes.

We're open for business and accepting prompts until December 20, at which time claiming starts and the fun begins. Fic deadline isn't until March 17 to give all of you already busily writing people plenty of time to get things done. And hey, if you take longer? That's fine, too. We're not picky.

Potentially, that's two whole months you have to write in! Go on, there's not enough Turnbull fic out there. You know you want to!
