Hi

I'm new to the fandom. I've just started re-watching Due South episodes. I was wondering if people can rec some stories. I think that Fraser is my favorite character, so any stories were he is the main character.

Welcome to the fandom. It's hard to rec stories that just feature Fraser since it's a slash community. Most of the stories I like best are ones that have them both equally. When I say both, I mean Fraser and RayK since I don't do Vecchio.

You could go to the DS archive and do a search. I rec anything by Speranza, anonymous who wrote "Busted" and "Crossing the Line" which are both great, Kellie Matthews, Beth M., and Journey. I'm sure I've left out some faves, but these are just off the top of my head.

When I first came to the fandom, I just started going through the archive and picking out stories at random and found some gems that way.

The place where you can post your rec search is ds_recfinders - it's a fairly new comm, but with great folks reccing great stuff. :-)

Welcome, welcome! It's tough to know where to begin when you're just starting out since there are many, many, many wonderful stories in this fandom. Luckily some fans have already done the hard work for you.

There is a community here on LiveJournal called ds_recsredux. It's a challenged-based comm where fans can recommend their favourite stories according to a weekly/monthly challenge theme (like, "favourite first-time stories" or "favourite kinky stories"). You'll be interested in the starter pack (http://community.livejournal.com/ds_recsredux/?skip=20&tag=starter+pack+challenge) challenge, where fans recommended stories people new to the fandom will like. There's a second list of responses here (http://community.livejournal.com/ds_recsredux/tag/starter+pack+challenge), and all the entries include links and story descriptions.

grey853 (who has written some excellent stories in her own right) is right to recommend anything by Speranza (http://www.trickster.org/speranza/stories.html). She's written some of the most influential and accessible stories in the fandom, and most of us started out reading her work. Once you've gone through that material there's plenty more, so feel free to stop back here and ask for more recommendations. We're always ready and willing to point out great stories!
