F/K for the 2016 due South Canadian Six Degrees Big Bang

For this year's due South Canadian Six Degrees Big Bang mific wrote and illustrated a wonderful F/K fic of adventure, danger and romance titled
In Which Ray and Fraser Go in Search of the Hand of Franklin ; I wrote a complementary piece titled Twelve Questing Pieces. Both of these fics are rated mature-to-explicit and with no applicable archive warnings.

Mific's 25,325-word work will appeal to a wide readership while I expect that my 1,121-word work -- being both poetry and unconventional format -- will have a rather limited readership. The unconventionality is that for each of the twelve chapters of the original fic I wrote a chapter in a poetry form, selecting and arranging them chapter by chapter in a specific order to create an acrostic that spells out FRANKLIN HAND. To see how that works, read down the initial letters of the twelve poetry forms that correspond in order to the twelve chapters:

new dS slash zine published!

According to publisher sources there hasn't been a dS zine published for ten years, but dS is the fandom that will not die and now a new dS zine has been published! FUMBLING TOWARDS ECSTASY is a 261-page slash novella published this month by Bast's Requiem Publications. Author bghost writing as "Amarok," Muse and Beta ride_4ever, with cover art by rose_malmaison.

Summary: Fraser is kidnapped. His captors forcibly expose him to the new drug 'High Octane' which makes sex addicts -- and thus highly marketable sex slaves -- of its victims. Ray Kowalski finds Fraser and frees him from captivity, but both of them continue to be victims of Fraser's addiction. Heavy angst. H/C. Warnings for non-con.

Fic search - micro RayK

Hello all,

Sorry to be the bearer of a fic search, but I need help. I've just introduced a friend to the wonders of Due South, and now I'm trying to send her fic I know will be relevant to her interests, but I'm struggling to track one down.

It's RayK/Fraser pre-slash or first time, can't quite remember. Ray is shrunk by some sort of shrinkgun, and Fraser carries him around while they try to sort it out. I remember that they go shopping at one point so that Ray can get some doll clothes to wear, and he makes himself make-shift weaponry with drawing pins coated with toad poison.

I know that Ray is attracted to Fraser in it, but I can't recall if they get together. I think there's a sweet scene where they talk about liking needing the other/being needed.

Does that ring any bells?

Since the excitement about the Big Bang has dimmed down a little again I thought I'd offer some new reading material. This is my take on the gay!undercover cliché (a favorite of mine):

Summary: Ray and Fraser go undercover. And then the assignment turns gay—but apparently, Fraser is quite comfortable with that. Which, as it turns out, comes as a real eye-opener to Ray

So he does the only thing he can think of: Find a hobby. Stay occupied. Keep the fingers busy. Ray joins a drawing course and is delighted to find out that all goes according to plan; it really takes his mind off things.

Until Fraser appears in class. As model.

And suddenly Ray realizes that drawing is one hell of a personal business.

Ray had, at that moment, brought a slice of pizza halfway to his mouth, but he'd been married for fifteen years and he knew an important relationship-conversation-opener when he heard one, so he put the pizza down. "Yeah, Fraser. We sure have."
Fraser nodded, like Ray was just confirming something he'd already suspected. "And while we haven't always seen eye to eye on things, it's certainly safe to say that we've established a rapport, right?"
"Right," Ray agreed, and joined Fraser in a hearty round of nodding. "We are just chock full of rapport, you and me."
